Why We Don't Sell Furniture Online — and What HAA&D Select Is Instead
There is a particular kind of frustration that comes with furnishing a well-designed space. You have invested in good architecture, thoughtful lighting, and considered materials — and then you scroll through an online furniture store and nothing feels right. Everything looks similar. Everything is available in three sizes and four colours. And nothing is made to last.
This is exactly why we created HAA&D Select.
Curated by architects, not by an algorithm
HAA&D Select is a collection of furniture and lighting pieces chosen by the architects and designers at HAA&D. Every item in the collection has passed a simple internal test: would we specify this in one of our own projects? If the answer is no, it does not make the cut.
The result is a focused, edited selection — not a catalogue. We are not trying to offer everything. We are trying to offer the right things.
Timeless design, not seasonal trends
The furniture and lighting industry moves in trends. New collections every season, new finishes every year. HAA&D Select deliberately moves against this. The pieces we choose are ones we believe will look as considered in fifteen years as they do today. That means natural materials, honest construction, and forms that do not rely on novelty to justify themselves.
This is not about being conservative. It is about being serious.

The makers behind the selection
The pieces in HAA&D Select come from two directions. The first is established brands that have earned their place — manufacturers known for consistent quality, honest materials, and the kind of customer service that stands behind what they make. Not every well-known name qualifies; we choose the ones where the craft still matters to the people making the decisions.
The second is artisan makers — independent designers and small studios whose work we encounter through our projects, our travels, and our ongoing research. These are pieces that cannot be found by browsing a catalogue. They are added to the collection gradually, as we find them, which means HAA&D Select is never finished. It grows and shifts as interesting work emerges — always with the same filter: is this made with care, and will it still feel right in twenty years?
We believe that a well-furnished space needs both: the reliability of a trusted maker and the character that only a human hand can bring.

HAA&D Select is not a conventional webshop. It is a curated resource — some of which is accessible through our design tools and process, and all of which is backed by real architectural thinking and personal guidance when you need it. Furniture at this level should be chosen in context — in relation to the space, the light, and the other elements around it. Whether you are working with us on a full project or simply looking for the right piece, we are here to help you get there.
For clients who are working with us on a project, HAA&D Select is a natural extension of that collaboration. For those who are not yet working with us but are looking for guidance on specific pieces, we are also open to standalone consultations.
