CHA06

FACADE & COMMON AREAS

Altbau

Berlin, Germany

M project, 2020

The CHA06 project embodies the harmonious blend of modern design and historical preservation. Located in the heart of Berlin, this renovation focused on revitalizing the building’s common areas, including the lobby, staircases, inner yard, and lighting. The aim was not only to optimize the functionality of these spaces but also to breathe new life into the building’s facade, preparing it for future rooftop renovations.

This project had a broader urban impact, contributing to the ongoing renewal of Berlin’s city center. By modernizing the facade while respecting its original architectural features, we enhanced the building’s relevance in its changing urban landscape. The renovation ensured that both the residential tenants and ground-floor commercial spaces remained appealing and vibrant, supporting the local community and economy.

Additionally, the project addressed the long-term sustainability of the building. By maintaining and upgrading its infrastructure, the CHA06 renovation extends the life of this historic structure, ensuring it remains a valuable asset to the city’s architectural heritage. The integration of modern elements with timeless design keeps the building functional and attractive, setting a benchmark for how heritage buildings can be preserved and adapted for contemporary urban life.
